General comments
Profylaxe is geïndiceerd bij risicofactoren: prematuriteit (<37 wkn), prematuur gebroken vliezen >12 uur, maternale koorts (>37,8 ˚C), bekend zware maternale kolonisatie (= positieve urinekweek) met GBS of een eerder kind met GBS ziekte.
De profylaxe wordt in het algemeen als adequaat beschouwd indien het antibioticum intraveneus in de juiste dosering minstens 4 uur vóór de geboorte is toegediend.
